You know that feeling when you've just settled into your chair, coffee in hand, ready to tackle the day, but you're not quite sure where to start?

All of your tasks and notifications are in the toolbar, so you can hit the ground running from anywhere in Planning Center. But we realized there was a missing piece of the puzzle to help you get your best work from the toolbar.

Now you can see your assigned workflow cards right next to your tasks!

Up until now, you had to do a bit of digital hopscotch to find your workflow cards—switching to the Home dashboard, jumping to the People dashboard, or even logging into your email. It was like a treasure hunt, and let’s be honest, who has time for that?

What workflow info can you see in the toolbar?

With your workflow cards cozying up next to your tasks, this new view in the toolbar is a game-changer.

You can see all your ready cards across all workflows in one place. And if you’re in the mood to organize, you can filter by specific workflow or focus on overdue cards.

Although you can’t create a workflow from the toolbar, once you click on a workflow you’ll be dropped right into that card.

We also know how easy it can be to get overwhelmed by a long to-do list. So, we’ve also added a nifty due date filter for tasks. You can zoom in on what’s just due today, or this week.

What kinds of workflows can you create for your ministry?

Workflows can help you track communication and progress as people go through specific steps or milestones of a process.

There’s so much you can do with workflows, but here are some ideas based on your specific ministry area!

Support Children’s Ministry Volunteers

For your children’s ministry, here are some ideas:

  • Send new volunteers through an onboarding process like a ministry deep-dive, policies overview, and harassment training.
  • Follow up with anyone who hasn’t volunteered in a while.
  • Reach out to the parents of a child who’s stopped attending.

Stay Connected to People in Small Groups

Getting people to join a small group is no small feat, and neither is staying connected to them once they’re there.

Here are some ideas for using workflows in your groups ministry:

  • Follow up with someone attending for the first time.
  • Send any specific resources when someone joins the group.
  • Follow up with someone who hasn’t attended in a while and check in on them.

Manage Your Worship Team

A lot goes into juggling the worship ministry, but workflows make it easier to manage your volunteers along the way.

Here are some ideas for using workflows in your worship ministry:

  • When someone signs up to join your team, send them through a volunteer workflow to learn more about serving in that role.
  • Send a prayer follow-up so your team members know you’re praying for them.
  • Follow up with someone if they haven’t served in a while.

Stay Engaged With Your Donors

Make donations more personal!

Here are some ideas for using workflows in your giving ministry:

  • Follow up with a first-time donor to thank them for giving.
  • Send giving acknowledgments when someone sets up recurring donations.

By bringing workflow cards into the toolbar, we're helping you stay on top of your game without the mental gymnastics of switching between different areas of Planning Center.

So, next time you ask yourself, "What's next?", just glance at your toolbar. Everything you need is right there!
