New: Sermon Notes

November 18, 2024
Sermons are a big part of the church experience, and we’re excited to announce a new way for congregants to engage with your sermon content in Church Center: the ability to create sermon note outlines with fill-in-the-blank fields for congregants to use on Church Center!
Let’s take a quick tour of how this works.
Sermon notes are available on any Publishing sermons plan. You can use sermon notes by themselves or alongside other formats like livestream, on-demand video, audio, and podcasts. (If you’re an existing sermons user, you can enable notes on your channel settings.)
When sermon notes are enabled on the channel, you will see a new “Sermon notes” tab where you can enable notes on a per-episode basis.
Using the editor, you can design and structure sermon notes to fit your needs. You can include fill-in-the-blank sections for specific words or phrases as well as personal notes areas where your congregation can add open-ended notes.
(If you used the beta version of sermon notes, personal notes areas were automatically inserted after every paragraph, but now you have complete control over where these areas appear!)
When your episode is available on the channel, a "Take notes" button will be shown on Church Center (alongside your "Watch live" button if you offer a live video experience). If you want to share a direct link to the notes for a specific episode, you can get a shareable URL or QR code in the episode settings:
On Church Center, logged-in congregants write their own notes while following along with the sermon:
They can fill in blanks or reveal answers by tapping on the eye icon.
Notes are private to the congregant’s profile and can be emailed to themselves or shared to other apps available on their device.
Sermon notes is now available for all Publishing sermons plans. We’d love to hear your feedback; you can email us at support@planningcenter.com!
