A few months ago, we made big changes to how background check list conditions work. The changes broadened support for list conditions but introduced some bugs and clunkiness. Today’s update brings fixes and refinements to the experience based on your feedback!
First, we’ve consolidated all background check list conditions into a single top-level condition called “Background checks”:
Previously, you had to choose between “Background check expiration” and “Background check status”, and it wasn’t clear which one would give you the list you needed. Now everything is one place, so you can find what you need without guessing.
Second, conditions in the "pending check status" group now consider only the most recent check. You'll get a more accurate picture of who's actively in the background check process—if someone's currently clear but you've submitted a renewal check, they'll also show up in your “pending” lists for that renewed check.
Third, the background check result section restores the ability to search by results, including those that occurred in a specific timeframe. This allows you to find not just who is clear but also has been cleared recently, so you can take action (like sending an approval email).
These changes mean less time puzzling over list conditions and more confidence in your background check workflows. If you have feedback on these improvements, our support team is listening!
